KNIT SOCK BLANKET

 KNIT YOURSELF A SOCK BLANKET
using A variety of leftover sock yarn (or some new sock yarn!!  With Mitered squares you will knit your first square and add squares as you go to build your blanket.  Knit your sock blanket as wide and as long as you want. Its colorful, its soft, and ITS WASHABLE because its SOCK YARN.

THE AFTERTHOUGHT HEEL

THE AFTERTHOUGHT HEEL
The easiest, fastest, most replaceable heel devised is to knit an extra TOE at the back exactly where you want it at the back of your sock.  Cast on 40 sts (using any appropriate yarn & needle size) & join in the round; knit eight rounds and bring with you to class!  
(Previous experience working in the round preferred but not required.)

THE KITCHENER STITCH

 
THE KITCHENER STITCH
Most famous as a method for sealing sock toes without leaving a seam that rubs, this method of grafting stitches together is useful for sweaters, shawls, hats, mittens, etc., etc.  Come learn how to work the simple miracle of embroider that is the Kitchener stitch!   Cast on 20 sts (using any appropriate yarn and needle size)and join in the round; work 4 rows and bring with you to class; also bring a tapestry needle.   (Previous experience working in the round preferred but not required.)
 
 

 

THE SHORT ROW HEEL

The SHORT ROW HEEL
A balanced, easy heel-turn method that is easily replaced at a later date.  Learn how to handle short rows and wraps, which have a million applications in other kinds of shaped knitting in hats, mittens, sweaters, etc.!  Cast on 40 sts (using any appropriate yarn and needle size) and join in the round; knit four rounds and bring with you to class! 
 (Previous experience working in the round preferred but not required.)

Have you been curious about how to ditch those pokey dpns and use a SINGLE circular needle to knit socks? Wonder no more!  Bring your sock-weight yarn and size 0 circular needle (27" inches or longer), and we'll get you started making some "magic" socks!  (Previous sock-knitting experience preferred but not required.)
 

 

TOE-UP SOCKS

TOE-UP SOCKS
Turn it around!  Starting a sock at the toe enables you to try it on for fit as you work. We'll make a miniature sock together, to learn how to create gussets and heel flaps in reverse, and a super-stretchy bind off for our cuffs. You'll take home a free pattern for adult socks. Bring size 4 dpns & worsted-weight yarn.

LEARN TO KNIT A BASIC SOCK

Find out how easy it is to knit in circles using double-pointed needles! We'll learn all the body parts of a sock (cuff, heel flap, heel turn, gussets and toes) in just a few short hours, and make a small sample sock while we work. You'll receive a free pattern to take home to make an adult sock! Bring size 4 dpns and worsted-weight yarn.

FAIRISLE KNITTING BASICS

FAIR ISLE KNITTING BASICS 
All of the very most elaborate Fair Isle knitting is created using just 2 colors per row, and knitting every stitch makes it easy. Bring at least 2 contrasting colors of worsted-weight yarn and a 16" circular needle, and we'll discover how to manipulate 2 yarns at once into a hat!  May cast on before class: Cast on 96 Sts and join into round , taking care not to twist the cast on row.  Work 4 or 5 rounds of [K2,P2] ribbing, DO NOT CUT YARN.  See you in class.
 
                                      
 

Learn Entrelac Knitting

BASIC ENTRELAC KNITTING
Entrelac, is in fact, very simple requiring no more knowledge than how to knit, howto purl & how to pick up stitches.*  Instead of working one row of stitches after another, you work one row of blocks after another, all diagonally connected.  Entrelac is also known as the BasketWeave technique.  For those enjoy this knitting you can join a free class in my Parisian Entrelac Purse from the "Paris in Diamonds" publication.

Learn To Crochet

LEARN TO CROCHET

This class instructs on the technique of using a crochet hook (yes only 1) with yarn to make lovely projects, or trims.  ​Learn to cast on stitches and do the basic single and double crochet stitches.  You'll leave crocheting a simple scarf.   We'll follow-up with increase & decrease techniques for free when you've mastered your crochet project
 

Learn To Knit

Learn to knit 
Class includes teaching the basic knit stitch and basic purl stitch.  You'll also learn to cast-on and bind-off your stitches to begin and end your project.  This class is very basic and meant to get you comfortable with knitting needles and the knitting technique.  We'll encourage you to leave knitting a simple project such as a scarf.  Its fun.... its relaxing... its therapeutic!  We can also recommend good book or computer resources to help you on your way.  Join us as we keep you "in stitches"
